Foundations of a Successful Academic Career Starts January, 2022
Join us for this dynamic ten-week group for faculty members as we address how to survive and thrive in academia in this time of crisis and beyond.

The fall session will start on January 22, 2021 and run for ten consecutive weeks. Registration is now open on a first-come, first-served basis with a $200 discount for registration by December 17. Past groups have included women and men from a wide range of disciplines and career stages.
Attendees will learn to:
- Gain control of your time
- Increase your writing productivity
- Identify unwritten expectations for promotion
- Fit in time to recharge
- Strengthen your professional networks
- Negotiate like a pro
- Speak with authority
- Navigate challenges related to gender, race, and culture
In addition to offering practical skills and strategies, the group will provide a safe-space in which to discuss common challenges that professors face and share solutions. The format will include presentations, interactive exercises, and group discussion. The group is continually updated to address current topics (such as the navigating through the pandemic).

The group will meet on Tuesdays from 3pm – 4:30pm Eastern Time starting on January 18.
The tuition for the group is $1495 with registration by December 17, or $1695 after December 17. Although many people self-pay, some use start-up, research, or professional development funds for the group. We don’t know the specific requirements of any particular funding source, so people generally check that out with their fund administrator. If you would like to ask your institution to cover the cost of the group, I will be glad to send you a sample letter for making a request for financial support.
