ABOUT RENA SELTZER
 Raised in Columbus (Ohio State Buckeye territory), I defected to the University of Michigan where I earned both my BS and MSW. With an undergraduate degree in Social Science and Women's Studies, and a graduate focus on interpersonal practice, I have long been interested in the interaction of people and their environment. After graduate school I worked as a therapist with an emphasis on addiction, solution focused work, family therapy, and employee assistance.
I am passionate about coaching. I work with people who are bright, dedicated, and fun, and who are doing interesting work. I have the pleasure of seeing my clients make concrete progress toward their goals. I also enjoy the chance to connect with people across the U.S. and Canada and around the globe.
I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and am the mother of two energetic school-age boys, and the partner to a physician. I happened into coaching academics and physicians in response to the needs in my own immediate environment – I live in a town dominated by a major research university and in a milieu that keeps me updated on the joys and challenges of medical careers. I have a black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate, and also enjoy running, hiking, and camping. I also love to write. Samples of my writing include the following:
