Foundations of a Successful Academic Career Starts Jan. 10, 2017
This dynamic ten-week virtual coaching group for professors is based on my book The Coach’s Guide for Women Professors: Who Want a Successful Career and a Well-Balanced Life. There are just a few spaces left in the session starting January 10, but I am taking names of people who cannot make the Tuesday morning time or would like to participate in the next cohort, so please pass this on to anyone you know who would benefit.
Attendees will learn to:
- Gain control of your time
- Increase your writing productivity
- Identify unwritten expectations for promotion
- Fit in time to recharge
- Strengthen your professional networks
- Negotiate like a pro
- Speak with authority
- Navigate challenges related to gender, race, and culture
Benefits of participating in the workshop can include:
- Greater writing and research productivity
- Reduced stress
- A more robust professional network
- Increased confidence
In addition to offering practical skills and strategies, the group will provide a safe-space in which to discuss common challenges that professors face and share solutions. The format will include presentations, interactive exercises, and group discussion. The group will meet ten times in weekly hour-and-a-half sessions by teleconference.
Some professors use start-up or professional development funds to cover the cost of this type of workshop. I will be glad to send you a sample letter for making a request for financial support.
Please let me know if you would like to join us for this empowering group!
